A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

If the booking fee is not paid 2 weeks prior to the start of the course, Whats Not To Hike (WNTH) will view this as a cancellation by you.
In the event you are late for the event and miss the start time, no refund will be offered.
All gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. If they are not redeemed within 12 months, you can request a 50% refund if you contact me within 2 years from the date of purchase.
Cancellation by client (You)
All cancellations must be made by email to whatsnottohike@gmail.com. If its 8 weeks before the date of the course/event, we will give a full refund, less 20% of the course/event cost to cover administration fees.
If its less than 8 weeks until the course/event starts then once notified of the cancellation, WNTH will try to resell your course/event place(s) if the course/event achieves full capacity. If WNTH is able to re-sell your place(s) prior to the commencement date of the course/event, you will receive a full refund less 20% of the course/event cost to cover administration fees. Refunds will only be made after the commencement date of the course.
You are also welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else but please let us know at least 48hrs in advance as they will be required to complete the Medical Declaration and Consent Form.
In the event that its within 8 weeks of the course and WNTH is unable to re-sell your place(s) prior to the course commencement date no refunds will be given. To cover this eventuality we recommend an insurance policy that includes cancellation or curtailment of your course or trip
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that planned events/courses take place as scheduled, WNTH will notify you of cancellation as soon as possible. WNTH will notify clients no less than seven days prior to the start date if a course/event needs to be cancelled because a workable minimum number of participants have not been reached.
If a course is cancelled due to dangerous and/or unsuitable weather conditions, instructor illness or minimum participation numbers not being reached you will be offered the choice of a full refund or a place on an alternative course/event. If the alternative course/event is of a higher value, than the cancelled course/event, the client will pay the difference in cost. WNTH cannot be held liable for any additional expenses incurred (such as accommodation/travelling costs) by the client (you) due to a cancellation.
While every reasonable effort will be made to run courses as planned, WNTH reserves the right to make changes to the course due to weather conditions, participant fitness or as a result of risk assessments on the day. All participants should be aware that minor alterations to routes or timings may sometimes be necessary. No refund will be issued if you decide not to participate due to poor weather conditions.
Some of WNTH’s courses/events take place in the outdoors. There are risks involved in any outdoor activity. By booking a course with WNTH, you are accepting these risks and agree to submit a Medical Declaration and Consent form after booking.
British Mountaineering Council Participation Statement
“The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own involvement. By booking a course you are aware and accept these risks and will be responsible for your own actions and involvement.”
All restrictions vary depending on the course/event – please make sure you have read the relevant Frequently Asked Questions for what the course/event you are booking. Parents or legal guardians must accompany young people under the age of 18 and undertake full responsibility and supervision of them at all times.
WNTH and all of its leaders/instructors have public liability insurance however it is recommended that you take out your own personal accident insurance and/or including booking cancellation insurance for all the courses. WNTH accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal possessions whilst you are attending a course/event.
If you make a group booking, the name and contact details provided on the payment form will be treated as the Main Contact. WNTH will only deal with the Main Contact in relation to the booking, including any changes or cancellation.
The Main Contact will be responsible for the payment of all course/event costs. It will be assumed that the Main Contact has authority to act on behalf of all group members. Each group member must complete the Medical Declaration and Consent Form.
WNTH must be made fully aware of any medical problem, condition, disability, injuries or medication of a client prior to booking via the Medical Declaration and Consent Form. If additional information is needed to be sent they must email whatsnottohike@gmail.com. If any of these medical issues change, arise or are suffered, between booking and the commencement of the course/activity WNTH must be notified immediately.
WNTH reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking on medical grounds, if it is considered to be detrimental to the safety and smooth running of the course/activity. If cancelled, the cancellation charges set out in these Terms and Conditions (Cancellation by Client) will apply.
Clients should familiarise themselves with the different levels of exertion likely to be needed for the different activities offered by WNTH and choose an course/activity that is suitable for their level of health and fitness. If there is any doubt as to the level of fitness required for a particular course/activity, please contact WNTH prior to booking. Clients should arrive for the course suitably fit and prepared for the activities.
WNTH reserves the right to refuse/bar a person from participating in an event if the participant is not properly dressed or equipped to enjoy the event safely. WNTH will also refuse participation to those who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or are exhibiting anti-social behaviour towards other participants or the instructor. This right of refusal also includes participants who fail to disclose a medical condition or disability when booking, that may restrict their participation.
WNTH is not responsible for inconvenience or costs incurred as a result.
Photographs and video footage taken on a course/activity may be used by WNTH for publicity purposes on its website and in promotional material (including on social media). If a client does not consent to this they must inform WNTH at the time of booking or the leader/instructor immediately prior to the start of the course/activity.
WNTH is registered with the Information Commissioner for data protection purposes and has appropriate procedures and security measures in place to protect client’s personal information.
When a client makes a booking, they are deemed to consent to their personal information (including medical information) being passed to WNTH’s staff or sub-contractors, as necessary for the purpose of providing the course/event.

If you are not satisfied with your experience with WNTH, please let the instructor know as soon as possible on the day of the event, or contact WNTH using the contact form on this website. Please submit any complaints within 28 days after the event.
