We offer all types of instruction in navigational skills, for all abilities and levels, from bespoke days to the National Navigation Award Scheme. Maybe you want the confidence to get out walking more yourself, or are training for a Mountain Training Qualification, or simply want to learn a new skill. Whatever it is, we can offer a course for your needs.

Navigation is a very practical skill so we have a low instructor-to-client ratio to allow you to gain as much from the course as possible. Each course will have a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 4 participants, with a minimum of 2 participants needed for a course to run.

Introduction to Navigation – 1 day

In a day we will introduce you to the basics of maps and map reading. It is aimed at people with no or limited navigational experience.

Beginner Navigation – 2 days

A more in-depth introduction to navigation. It is aimed at people with no or limited navigational experience, or those with intermediary navigational skills that want a refresher.

Intermediate Navigation – 2 days

This course is aimed at people with some navigational experience allowing you to improve and take your skills to the next level.

Bronze National Navigation Award: Beginner Navigation – 2 days

This is the same as the beginner navigation 2 day course but you will gain a recognised award at the end of the second day.

Silver National Navigation Award: Intermediate Navigation – 2 days

This is the same as the intermediate navigation 2 day course but you will gain a recognised award at the end of the second day.
